Privacy Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
This policy explains what Screenshot Studio collects, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. Screenshot Studio is run by NVN Labs, [REGISTERED ADDRESS], [COUNTRY] (“we”, “us”), the controller of your personal data. Questions or requests: [SUPPORT EMAIL].
The short version: the quick editor never sends your screenshots to us — everything happens in your browser. When you sign in and use cloud projects, we store your projects and images so you can open them anywhere. We don’t sell your data, don’t show ads, and don’t use your screenshots for anything except showing them back to you.
1. What we collect
When you use the quick editor without an account
Nothing about you reaches our servers. Your screenshots and designs are kept in your browser’s own storage on your device, and exports are made on your device too. Our hosting provider still sees the technical details of every web request (see “Server logs” below).
When you create an account
- Account details from Google or GitHub, whichever you choose: your name, email address, profile picture and that service’s account id. The sign-in service also gives us access tokens, which we store but don’t use for anything beyond signing you in.
- Your content: cloud projects (slides, text, layout, languages), the images you upload to them, project thumbnails, saved templates and version history.
- Plan and billing status: whether you’re on Free or Pro, your Stripe customer and subscription ids, monthly or yearly, renewal date and whether you’ve cancelled. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting provider records technical request data — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — to run the service and keep it secure. These logs are kept for a limited time under the provider’s own retention rules.
2. Why we use it
- To provide the service you asked for — your account, saving and syncing projects, exports, version history and your subscription (performance of our contract with you).
- To take payment and keep records that tax and accounting law require (legal obligation).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, and to understand which features are used so we can improve them (our legitimate interests — see section 4 for analytics).
- To reply when you contact us.
4. Analytics
We use PostHog to count page views and a few product actions (for example “project created”, “export completed”, “upgrade clicked”), so we know what works. It runs without cookies or browser storage. When you’re signed in, these events are linked to your account id — never your name, email or screenshots. We ask PostHog not to keep visitors’ IP addresses. You can block it with any content blocker, and the site keeps working.
6. International transfers
Several providers are in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or European Economic Area, the transfer relies on safeguards recognised by law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, as offered by each provider.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and content: until you delete your account. Up to 50 versions are kept per project; older ones are removed automatically. Images you uploaded stay in your account until you delete the account, even if you delete the project that used them.
- When you delete your account: your projects, images, thumbnails, templates, history and subscription are deleted straight away, and your Stripe subscription is cancelled. Backups held by our database provider expire on their normal schedule.
- Payment records: Stripe and we keep invoices and transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your data, or correct it;
- delete it — you can do this yourself any time from Account & billing → Delete account;
- give it to you in a portable format — each project can be downloaded as a file with Save file in the editor;
- restrict or object to how we use it.
Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] and we’ll reply within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our providers. Every request is checked so you can only reach your own projects and images; images are served through short-lived signed links, not public addresses. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects you we’ll tell you as the law requires.
10. Children
Screenshot Studio is a tool for app developers and isn’t intended for children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their data; if you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We’ll update the date at the top when this policy changes, and tell signed-in users by email or in the app before significant changes take effect.
